Slick Trick Questions
I have seen many positive comments regarding Slick Tricks and am planning on giving them a try this hunting season for whitetail. Looking at the crossbow tricks in both 100 and 150 grain versions but am not sure which weight to try?
If anybody has experience with either one of these versions I would appreciate any feedback regarding how they fly, how they penetrate and how well the terminal performance is. If one weight clearly outperforms another it would be helpful information.
Thanks,
Kind Regards,

Re: Slick Trick Questions
If you using the stock excalibur bolts you need 150 for good foc.
If you have a 80 or 100 brass insert a 100 is perfect.
Great head great choice . Penetration is probably as good as it gets. They had a 175 that flew like a dart out of the stock excalibur bolts then discontinued them for what reason l cant understand.
I have gone to the expandables because it's just easier and the testing and tuning is minimal l also like not being in the tree etc. With a sharp broadhead.
The slick trick, ramcat, and boltcutter are all very accurate as far as a fixed blade goes.

Re: Slick Trick Questions
I use the 150s and they are absolutely incredible, flight, penetration, performance, etc.. I see no reason to switch and have purchased enough to last me for years...
Re: Slick Trick Questions
With 110 gr front inserts you will do very well with 100 gr broadheads.

Re: Slick Trick Questions
I just orderd some BEE"s with 80gr brass.
For my 125gr slick trick mags.
Sounds like that should work well .

Re: Slick Trick Questions
I have some 150gr that I will be using for moose this October.
Re: Slick Trick Questions
I do use 110 gr front inserts and also a true helical on my vanes so I am going to start off with the 100 grain to see how they fly and group. Hopefully my POI will be close to my field points. Based on everyone's feedback my optimism is high.

Re: Slick Trick Questions
I highly recommend the x bow slick tricks I have been using them for at least ten years now and have had great results.
all the above advise is correct if you have heavy incerts you can use the 100 gr otherwise get the 150 gr heads and your all set.

Re: Slick Trick Questions
Is there any actual difference between the Xbox tricks and the original tricks? They look the same to me?
I noticed the Xbox Tricks only have the 1 1/8 cutting option while the originals have the 1.0 option which I think would fly better?

Re: Slick Trick Questions
I make my own bolts and use an arrow squaring tool for good head alignment and have no issues getting the 1 1/8 th heads to group.
I like the 4 blade 1 1/8 cut the bigger cut is an advantage as long as it groups well and it does.
And Excaliburs have plenty of energy to get pass throughs on any deer I have harvested.

Re: Slick Trick Questions
Hi Don,
The video was helpful. I always assumed that once the broadhead is seated hard against the front face of the insert it would not move but the video shows this is not the case. There must be more play between the components than I realized. I will use a set of V-Blocks to check my alignment when I install my broadheads.
I picked up a pack of the 100 Grain 1 1/8 cut crossbow tricks and will test them tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing how they fly.
They certainly look very lethal!

Re: Slick Trick Questions
The 150 gr Slick Trick Mags have the same POI as 150 gr field points on my 20" BEEs with a total weight at 485 gr & FOC of 18.9%. I put the NuFletch Ignitor nocks on also.
