40 Strand Dacron String
I made the string n have the brace ht set on Half Bubble Off. Went out yesterday afternoon n shot at 20 yds, it hit high. So i went to 30 yds n shot it hit high, 35 it was dead on at 35 yds just like the Force 10 string. I have not shot any farther as of yet to see what it hits at 40-45 yds. I have my T dot on it, very happy with the Dacron string
Re: 40 Strand Dacron String
What is the weight difference between the Dacron and force 10 strings. How many lbs is half bubble. Is 40 strands of Dacron equal to aprox 1600 lbs.I have a couple spools of dacron, been thinking of making one for my 335 that got neutered to a 315.

Re: 40 Strand Dacron String
Dacron is 50 lb per strand, so it should be 2000. I have not weighed the Dacron string, its on a BD360. Maybe about same limb poundage as the 315 you made, BD360 is 240 lb i think. I made it with 40 strands so it would not creep a lot fast
Re: 40 Strand Dacron String
Did that Dacron take the twang out of the shot.what do you think the minamum number of strands for the 315 .

Curious as to why the switch from your normal Force10 & 8190 string materials. Just doing some testing, or are you thinking it may help with preventing limb issues?

Good ?'s n i am testin on the diff of fps between those strings. I don;t havre a chrony so i just shoot diff yardage, as i have not touched the scope settin. I shoot to see where the arrow hits in elevation. I don't knowed about the limb issues but it should be much easier on the limbs
Re: 40 Strand Dacron String

100 + per strand on Force 10
Re: 40 Strand Dacron String
Other than 'creep', are there any more disadvantages of the D97? I have one on a Micro 355 (an endless loop) at the moment and switched it off with a Flemish string (not one of yours though) and the dacron EL was very noticably quieter and faster. It does require me to check brace height often so not sure how long it can possibly creep like this without breaking.
Mike, Do you build EL strings as well as the beautiful Flemish strings?

No i do not make ENL strings except fer my MXB's. D97 is not a bad material, its like Dacron in the creeping area when used wid less strand countSmong2000 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2019 8:30 amOther than 'creep', are there any more disadvantages of the D97? Re: 40 Strand Dacron String
I disagree with this quite a lot. I would not put D97 and Dacron in the same category at all when it comes to creep. D97 and F10 have basically the same creep, and in fact BCY told me they developed F10 to have less creep in a crossbow, but it didn't work out to be true. Creep is an unrecoverable elongation in the material. This absolutely happens to Dacron. All Dyneema (D97, F10, etc) has some creep, but it is a very small fraction of that of Dacron.vixenmaster wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2019 10:20 amNo i do not make ENL strings except fer my MXB's. I'm interested to see what happens to your Dacron string. I would think it would stretch quite a lot and not last very long at all due to the much higher limb weights we have now. Especially if you sit with the bow cocked for a long time on a hunt.

Re: 40 Strand Dacron String
Well you can disagree all you want to. Dacron does creep more than D97, but they both creep n you will reset brace ht often. I had to set brace ht couple time since i made this string, No more than D97 so far. Its not moved in 2 weeks now. I spect this string will last a decent amount of time n shotsnchunterkw wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2019 12:20 pmI disagree with this quite a lot.
