on that "how old" stuff...
So this is a muzzleloader story not a crossbow tale, sorry, just making my personal commentary on getting old.
We had 12" of snow Wednesday of the WI gun season on top of a 3-4" base and then 20-22" more the 2nd Sat-Sun. with high winds and drifting.
Muzzleloader season started that following Monday.
All the side roads were impassable with a 4wd truck.
SO I needed to use my Arctic Cat sled to break trail and then have a 3 mile ride in on snowmobile and then walking into the woods through 2 1/2+ feet of snow, to hunt, but it paid off on a nice 8 pt. with my muzzleloader.
Big body, 200 lbser for sure, fun drag even with the snow.
Most of my "younger" hunting friends all gave up, too much snow. (Except one GREAT hunting partner, who, when I didn't come out at quitting time, guessed I got a deer, he went home, loaded up his sled, and got to me just in time for pics after I got the buck back to the snowmobile. THAT'S a hunting partner!!!)
Oh yeah, I'm NOT old!!

“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming "Wow, What a Ride!
Re: on that "how old" stuff...
Guess my point is that at 66 with 2 knee and 2 hip replacements,a 12" surgery scar on my back, along with various other issues, I'm still able to get out and do stuff because I WANT to.
And I'm always looking for a new adventure. I love ice fishing and last year made a couple bucket list trips, Lake Winnipeg in Manitoba and Saginaw Bay on Lake Huron in Michigan.
Having to snowmobile in just to deer hunt to me was the best part of the hunt, getting the deer was just the capper!
Yeah, it's a chore sometimes and stuff hurts, and it's occasionally a lot of work, but trying to stay somewhat physically active and just having the willpower to do stuff really helps.
A friend of mine has started the "Life is Short, Find An Adventure Movement" and I try to wholeheartedly subscribe to her basic philosophy of living your life as fully as you reasonably can.
Really, it's what keeps you somewhat young as long as you can keep it up.

I really like your friends philosophy and my wish is to follow it, especially after having 3 close family members pass away in November.ThunderXB wrote: ↑Tue Dec 17, 2019 5:14 pm

One of my Crossbow Customers from New Zealand whose family owns 20,000 + hunt able Hectares and access to much much more has asked Patti and I to be his guest for a month this summer (their winter) and hunt many species day or night without limit.
We just found our ADVENTURE MOMENT and will not miss this opportunity of a lifetime.
