I've had possibly 3 bears on my hunting property and one of them has finally beaten my corn feeder to death. It also killed my game cam. So the question is, is there a feeder that can take a beating?
Yep, there is. I bought a bear tag and talked to the MNR last week. They said dont put the feeder up and if it/they destroy more, I've got a green light. Somethings gonna die!
They destroyed every feeder I've ever put out down here, I finally sunk a 12 foot 6x6 in the ground with a cantilevered arm and hand winch. I also covered the post with painted aluminum flashing and coated it with petroleum jelly. Zero ill affects on the wanted wildlife and nothing can climb it to do any damage. It's also hilarious watching the squirrels and raccoons get a running start and jump to only spin like a top on their way to the ground. No more worrying about feeder damage here.
I saw a Utube on a bear trying to get a hunk of deer that was thwarted by electric shock but the bear eventually beat up the wiring. I'm thinking about that. I would like to see the video!

Don't limit yourself to one feeder. Set up another feeder, but in the second one use stuff that bears like, but doesn't draw in deer. Set it up a good distance from your first feeder.
I know you know what I'm referring to. I bet you know some people who have young children that could help out.

Google “PVC deer feeder”
A 4” pipe and a couple fittings and you ratchet strap it to a tree. The bears will feed from it but they can’t break it. I had a 400 pounder trying to ruin mine...he managed to push and pull it a few inches but could not break into it try as he might.
If you want to PM me your email, I’ll send some pics of mine (and the big bear)

I have only 38 acres.
Boo, you might want to take a look at a company called Capsule Feeders (https://capsulefeeders.com/.) They are different to say the least. They also claim they are bear proof and hog proof. They come in an assortment of sizes, from 250lbs to 1000lbs feeders.
I believe they are made in Ohio.

“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming "Wow, What a Ride!

That looks good but expensive! But it won't take long for a few directional feeders to add up to that.
