Questions

Post by strum »

Guys I haven't been on here in quiet some time as some of you who remember me know we bought a bowling alley so between that and doing home inspections i have been out of the loop. In fact my crossbow has sat on the hooks for way to long.
I decided this year i wasnt going with out some deer burger in my freezer and the opener here is the 15th.
I cant even re,ember what year I got this micro 335 but it was the first year they came out.
So did Excalibur change the riser on these? I thought i read maybe they changed the angle to soften the recoil and help limb life?
Mine would be original so im wondering is there any thing I need to be aware of as I re-enter the cross bow world?
I understand sting maintenance ect and mine has of course stretched and i have some in stock but they are getting old. and my decocker keeps slipping so i need one to move ahead with string removal. Any way thanks in advance for any help guys and hope everyone is doing well.

Hey Stan! Hope you’re doing well!
The current fix is just to replace the limbs with the newest generation. The old ones were thinner where they sit in the riser and were flexing. That flex was causing horizontal growth, forcing the limb corners against the recoil bracket posts. That in turn caused a good dent initiating a crack. The newest ones are thicker and the flex is minimized.
Just remove your limbs and check for a crack on the underside. If there’s no crack, keep shooting. For some reason not all limbs failed. My 405 went 1800 shots with no cracks and no cracks in any of my micros. Luck of the draw!
