Lets talk back pack's.
I dont necessarily feel I need one for just a moring hunt. But then I get aggravaed when I dont have somthing I need.
But By the time you take you take your tree saw, knives, field dressing supplys, sents ,calls, gloves, fase mask tags, rage finder, Binoculars, extra layers when it gets cold. Stringer, extra ststring, Now decoys, odds and ends of other small things you allways think you might need.
Its to much junk to put in your pockets.
I am kina OCD about having all that stuff orginized. In its place all togeather so I know where it is should I need it.
Because if I dont I will forget where I put it. Then that makes me mad. Then I blame the wife for moving my hunting junk pile and loosing my stuff , ( then later I find it where I put it so I would not lose it.).
So I minimized it all to one small pack.
But now I feel I need a bigger pack.
Altho now your back to packing in to much stuff.
Do you guys have this problem?
Anyway Those Sitka toolbox packs look nice but expensive.
Steve

Re: Lets talk back pack's.
That drives me crazy too! I am very gradually learning to do without some items.
Some people just like stepping on rakes
Re: Lets talk back pack's.
I think we have all tried to minimize at some point. Then we get some new toy and think oh one more small item wont hurt. And it grows from there, Again.
I doubt I will ever learn...lol
You would think we could get by with just bow, stand, knife, tag done!
And I could on private spot.
But if Im on public, which is mostly what i do. I am to broken down and out of shape to be walking back an forth to the truck.

Re: Lets talk back pack's.
Looks nice Joe. Yup i forgot some things on your list.
I will have to strap the pack to my climber.
Or take it all in on a cart and ditch it before i get to my tree.
How far from your tree do you leave your deer cart? If you use one.

Re: Lets talk back pack's.
Like most, I either have a backpack, a military shoulder pack, or a modular waist pack to carry all the "STUFF" I take along for hunting.
That's in addition to the stuff I have stashed in the pockets of the cargo pants and the jacket!
I even had to put straps on the waist pack so it wouldn't keep slipping down from the weight of the "STUFF" in it!
When I hunt in the woods just off my yard, I don't need to carry any packs ! DUH!!!

Re: Lets talk back pack's.
Last year my buddy walked back to the truck twice to get the deer cart, app. 1 1/2 mi. one way. He lost a Buck he hit with the FL, that would have been about a 2+ mi. one way hike back to the truck for the cart.
I just built another cart to stash in the woods NEAR where we are hunting, probably the most we will have to walk is 1/4 mi. to get it, couple places it would be 100 yds. or less.
It will be well hidden in laurels and cabled to a tree, we are both getting too old to be doing double duty work.
Might add: There is no way we would be hunting where we are without having a deer cart, ours have 26" cart wheels on them and make getting deer out a whole lot easier than dragging them. I'm 73 and my buddy is 68, hate to admit it, but neither one of us is anywhere near our prime anymore!!

Re: Lets talk back pack's.
I like Fieldline, they are not expensive, have a lot of pockets, and on the edges some of them have straps to tuck extra clothes under so you don't need to stuff them into the bag. You can find them everywhere also!
It’s not the way you rock, it’s the way that you roll!
