As planned we went to the farm. I know there are way better bucks, but I couldn't hold off. I'm old, sick, and impatient lately, I ain't got forever anymore LOL.

I'm grateful for the harvest Dear Lord, Amen. I will post a trail cam pic the Kid showed me on the way home. I saw 15 deer today, and got a video of one too small for even me to shoot!

The Kid had a nice big 10 point, but could not get a shot, he did the right thing, and passed on two small bucks as well. He's holding out for a bruiser in his record book. I get that, he wants something 140" or bigger. Anyway, I shot the third buck that I got a shot on, it was too far quartering away, but it worked. Tracking this buck took all I had, and the Kid wound up finding it. 120 - 150 yards in thick stuff and the blood trail petered out in 20 yards. Luckily I watched the buck, and wee went after him. Told the Kid to keep hunting, sat in my stand and video taped one buck, saw a ton of doe. Anyway, two hours or so later we went to find my buck. I knew the shot was a chancy one. We lost blood like I said, and after going in small circles where I last seen him and finding ZERO blood, my heart sank. I knew the shot was a gamble, but damn it. Kid says he'll follow 20 yards along side the corn, which is still 8"tall. I said I'll walk the corn edge. Of course he gets way ahead, and says, I got your buck!
I'm thankful to just get out! I'm thankful to God for Everything.
This buck's stomach plugged the entry hole, and I saw him run off with the arrow poking out. Swat A4-Mini, Matrix 380, I knew I was not going to get a pass through shot, but never anticipated his stomach to plug the hole. Good thing is, no gut shot! Stomach did not pop into the cavity!
