Re: Excalibur TwinStrike Crossbow
I just don't see the need.
Re: Excalibur TwinStrike Crossbow
There is certainly less need here in Ontario with the exception of maybe coyotes. But in areas where you can take 2 turkeys a day or you have an over population of deer, it may be much more practical.
Jeff and Chris are going to buy one each and then molest them!

Re: Excalibur TwinStrike Crossbow
I live in an area where we have tons of deer, and I hunt a lot on depredation permits. I can't see myself shooting a deer and watching it run off, and then quickly shooting another one without knowing exactly what happened on the first one. I passed on a buck this year in this exact scenario. Shot a doe and then reloaded and had a shot at a buck. Didn't take it because didn't know what happened to the other one and the shot would have been face on. At least with deer, I think if you have a group around you and shoot, they all scatter, or if they don't they at least are very aware you are there so shot opportunities would not be ideal.
Now, I also shot a doe and dropped it in it's tracks, so I reloaded and then shot another one 30 min later. And another time I shot one, went and found it and field dressed it and then shot another 30 min later. But in each case I obviously had time to reload.
The only time this would be useful to me is if I miss, and the deer hangs around and presents another shot. But these scenarios are rare.
Maybe for hogs or coyotes

Re: Excalibur TwinStrike Crossbow
Would like to hear the R&D team on this...was this really something customers were clammoring for? Quick follow up shot was never anything I prioritized with archery, horizontal or vertical bow. With the accuracy of an excalibur, one well placed arrow is all it takes.
Re: Excalibur TwinStrike Crossbow
Say goodbye to uncocking the new Twinstrike. I say they fell short with this bow. No built in cocking/decocking crank. Overall a niche market crossbow. I can see newbies shooting their foot because they will forget about that second arrow. I don't see the need of this type of crossbow.

Actually you can uncock it using the included dual fire uncocking aid. It won't be a crossbow for everybody but from the response we have received so far there is a ton of interest.Say goodbye to uncocking the new Twinstrike. I say they fell short with this bow. I actually like it can’t wait to shoot one but as for right now we will not able to use it in Ohio.

For that price, one can buy 3 Mag 340s and go triple or nothing.colouredchameleon wrote: ↑Thu Jan 07, 2021 12:11 pmHoly Crap.

The AXE 340 / Mag 340 are definitely a "HomeRun" for Excalibur, as for the TwinStrike...might be a "StrikeOut".
Only time will tell.

Re: Excalibur TwinStrike Crossbow
Forget a follow up shot, are you able to fire both arrows at once?

I like the TwinStrike, But it's going to make it harder to Legalize crossbows for the archery season here in Colorado.
Boo, you're going to have to make twice as many strings...
