I was out the other day cutting firewood for the this winter. I had an Oak on the ground cutting it into correct lenghts when I notice this peculiar little fellow crawlining along on it's merry way.
I personally had never seen one of these before other than in pictures.
This fellow is about 5 inches long and as big around as you index finger. He's quite the looker with all the horns and spikes.
Anyone want to tell me what this fellow is????

Yes this caterpillar is what is called the HICKORY HORNED DEVIL, it turns into the REGAL MOTH which is also called the royal walnut moth.
The regal moth (Citheronia regalis), also called the royal walnut moth, is a North American moth in the saturniidae family. The caterpillars are called hickory horned devils. The adult (Imago) has a wingspan of 3.75-6.1 in (9.5-15.5 cm).
