Arrow stoppers/arrestors

Post by canadianhunter312 »

hey all im gonna be using my crossbow for turkey this spring and was wondering what i should use to keep the bolt in the bird. ive neevr seen one around town and always forget when i goto the big hunting stores (lebarons, Bass pro). both of those are at least 1 hour away.

so i was wondering if i could buy a few off someone here since it would make it alot easier for me.

thanx

This will be my first year for turkeys.if all goes well.

Maybe some of the forum members can post a couple of pics of the arrow arresters for young Scott (Canadianhunter312) here so that he knows what's out there.

Scott. Pick them up the next time you go to a hunt store. It will be much easier.

Digger,

Where can a person buy those arrestors? I searched all over for them and can't find them anywhere.

Captain I am not digger but I have been looking for them to restock my supply. I have not been able to find them in Ontario to fit my 2117 arrows. Archers Nook has the ones for the 2216 listed on their web, and I have found a bunch of stores in the USA that have them listed on their sites and will be trying to order some today. They range in price from $3.10 - 4.75 American for them (pack of 2)

Canadian Hunter "lebarons, Bass pro" do not carry them so your hours drive would not be worth it. All I did was a search on the web using Zwickey Scorpio and go a bunch of hits and looked up the stores. Will let you all know later how it worked out for me.

stoppers

You might want to check at Gagnon Sports in Oshawa. I have bought them there and seen them but call ahead and ask first. That is if you are local and it is worth your drive that is. They have been restocking and changing the store around a bit lately for the turkey hunt.

Some concern about clearing the foot stirrup with them heads. You would likely have to use a longer bolt. :?
Always learning!!

A crossbow may be to powerful, but, I have used the Muzzy 4 blade heads with 2 regular blades and 2 practice blades to arrest penetration.
