if its a cat and its in the bush its a dead cat! ive lost 5-6 arrows from shooting those damn things. ive shot a bunch of them in the 9 years ive been hunting.

personally, i dont care if its someones cat and tries to come to me to pet it. if its in the bush its dead.

I still say some of you guys got scratched as kids! It's pure hatred of the feline kind. To even consider shooting someone's pet :? ...especially one that is approaching you to be petted!!!??? That is plain pathetic. You may wish to check your game regulations while you're boasting your mighty hunting prowess. Around our parts, shooting an animal that isn't listed as a game animal is a criminal offense.

Gonehuntin, we do have wolves in our part of the woods. We're close to Rouge Mattawin reserve and parc Mont Tremblant. Although are deer populations are more than healthy, they aren't as high as in the southern farming areas. I suspect the more northern climate and not as abundant rich farm foods are the reasons. I'm sure the wolves take their share and that's the way it's been for thousands of years...much before the mighty white hunter decided he wanted it all for himself.

Give yourself a good shake canadianhunter, and if you can't do it you should have someone do it for you...

I agree...

Some people shouldn't even have a hunting permit/ license, not to mention a firearm in their hands!..

Ferel cats can become a problem...ask the Australian Government..

I live in the country and people drop off dogs and cats out around here alot..I do what I can for those that wonder my way infact 3 of my dogs are saved strays and 1 cat... The ferel cats do kill more than they need. Its a shame but what do you do....sometimes you dont have a choice...we do have a responsibility to be conservationist in our own small way. not a vigilante killer but rather a responsible outdoorsman... I dont like it..but the lesser of 2 evils is what I opt for... let your conscience be your guide!

The natural balance of predator and prey is no longer natural, no matter how you look at it. What is the right ratio of this animal to that animal for a given area? Who really knows? We, humans, try to control the world around us to suit us better. Some of us want to get rid of the predators( and seemed to enjoy the days more when there was DDT), so we can have more "game" animals for ourselves. It's almost like the entire wild population is a farm for all of us to collect our food from. Just a little different perspective.

I'm not hunting, I'm farming  !! And I will continue until I die. Bring on them turkeys!!!!

From time to time one must deal with problem animals. It may be a rat, skunk, etc. but I wouldn't call it hunting. Is an exterminator or a SPCA officer a hunter? I don't think so. If some of you decide to go out and kill some feral cats because you believe they have become a problem then fine go for it but I wouldn't post a picture of myself with it and I wouldn't brag about it. The last thing hunters need is someone posting a picture of their trophy feral cat. I don't think this is good for hunting and I don't think hunters should be associated with this.

The "kitty hugger" among us  As I've said, I like cats. I DO NOT HATE CATS! I have 3 of them. However, if you've ever seen a loose roaming feral cat kill a covey of baby quail just for the fun of it (not eating any of them) or seen the stats on the millions of songbirds they kill each year, in every state, you have to do the responsible thing. We (humans) have introduced an imbalance into the scheme of things and we have an obligation to try to set it right. I'm also a strong conservationist who opposed bear hunting in FL and many other things that were not justified by population levels. The feral cats have taken food supplies from native predators (displaced them) in many instances down here. How can you justify that? When it comes down to whether I have foxes, bobcats, hawks, owls and songbirds or do I have stray housecats, there is no question. I usually draw the line at one with a collar. If they have a collar with the owners name/contact info and I can catch them I will. Otherwise, they're history. A little rational thinking should be the rule here IMO

I agree with Lonewolf..Im going to jump up on my soap box for a minute.. anytime whoever and not anyone in particular has an opinion about something that you know may piss people off or at worst make the hunting community (us) look like we are insensitive, cold-hearted killers it is best to not air that for obvious reasons..Its more detrimental and counter productive than its worth.. If your trying to impress someone about how ruthless and cold-hearted you can be-- you will--- and it serves only to tear down what we as hunters attempt to build in a reputation for hunters..Im sure as hell not going to be self-righteous and say I have never cause I have, but there is a time to refrain from such hogwash when it will only be (counter productive),,who cares anyway..I will tell you... those that want to take our hunting privileges that’s who..so come on wise up..be careful what you say cause after its said you cant take it away..and the end result of such crap is far worse than Im sure you would want..given a second chance to take stuff back that becomes dirty laundry for hunters never happens. Once out there its out there.. so please think before typing friends..do what you gotta do when it comes to feral anything..but don’t tell the whole world it could work against us all someday..Ok Im done..just had to get that off my chest..

respectfully submitted..
