That's right it ain't your fault GreyWolf, it's mine....

GoneHuntin is right, I should have been more careful with my choice of words with my reply to the thread. I didn't mean for it to sound the way it did, and I surely wasn't intending on turning the thread the way it did either... That just goes to show what can happen when one types and press' enter too fast without thinking first. It can/will sometimes bounce back in your face as it did in mine...

I don't know what you guys would be sorry about!
I read all of the posts and it seems to me that, yes there were some opposing opinions, that is healthy isn't it! We're all big boys here and no-one is hiding behind a curtain!
I think this was an excellent post in general, because it may have opened up a lot of peoples eyes about a very real problem!
I am sure a lot of decisions have been made based on the different opinions, and if we all thought the same, nobody would learn anything new!
The important thing would be to weigh it all out and do what you think is the right thing!
BTW what is an opinion, is it what you first think about a situation, or is it what you think after you have let all of the facts come into play and effect your overall feeling? Probably a bit of both!
Enjoy the Harvest!

It was a great discussion and I'm glad it came up here. Opposing views are healthy to any discussion. Sometimes words may be harsh, but as Buckshot said "we're all big boys". In the end, the wiser man can listen to both sides of the coin, be able to reflect on each opposing view, and walk away with an appreciation and understanding of both.

I also agree that this was a timely & producive thread. It stimulated a (mostly :o) rational discussion with implications beyond the specifics of it. I didn't see any personal insults (much); just some strong opinions. As for airing our opinions for anti-hunters, I would bet that most learned conservationists, bird watchers, granola types etc. would side with those who feel the feral types which displace native species should be removed. I know a bunch of those types down here in FL who wince at the thought of killing a deer, but whole heartedly support wild hog hunting; no limits & no seasons

A.W., I think some of the rats around Toronto could handle some of our ferel cats. I speak from having a pest control background. What ever happened to our coyotes around town. Wasn't there a big issue a couple years back about coyotes snatching cats around parts of the city? That would help, I'm sure.
