Hey Grizzled

Post by exohuntr »

I hate this has happened to you, but maybe we can help each other out. I have a Hoyt verticle bow that has a 29" draw length, set at 58 lbs, with 75% letoff. I have tons of accessories to go with it. If you want to set up some kind of trade for a vert. bow we can talk. My bow is only 3 years old, and quiet as a church mouse when shot. I have hurt my sholder and now prefer to shoot my exocet, but adding another excalibur to the stable would be great. If you are interested just shoot me a pm and we can work out something formal. I am afraid that the temptation to hunt with that macine will be to much for any normal man after sighting it in on targets. Do both of us a favor and send it South.

grizzled,

I wish I hadn't been the one to break them bad news to you, I feel as though I have just thrown a big wrench into your gears. Especially after seeing your pic of how happy you were to receive it.

As we speak my brother is in the same boat as you are right now, he just bought an Exocet 200 and they are also moving down east soon.

Hi Lonewolf,
Yeah, I am feeling real gutted now, and not sure what to do. I know you brought it to my attention, but the authorities contacted me this morning anyway, and just confirned what you said! So you don't have to feel bad. They have been using the term "bow" in there mails, and that threw me. they never mentioned Crossbows were banned or anything...until it was too late sort of!!
Ah well, I will have to come up with something soon. It's not the end of the world! well....not quite! lol

Grizzled were in NewBrunswick are you moving to, I'm just wondering for I was born and grew up in Northern NewBrunswick ( Dalhousie), my family still lives there. The one thing I miss about living there is the fall. I really like when all the maple trees start to change colors. Sorry to here about the crossbow thing. Good luck with your move.

Perhaps we should be thinking about applying pressure towards the people who make these rules and see if we can get them changed to allow crossbows during bow season. Does anybody know the history of crossbows in Ontario and BC where they are allowed during the regular archery season?

Hi maritimer,
I will be moving near to Miramichi. I bet it does look wonderful in the fall!! I can't wait to get over there....just very disappointed about the bow situation! We will be passing very close to where you came from on our trip down there.

Grizzled,

I am very sorry to hear about your situation of your bow, I own an excalibur myself and love it...they really are great machines.

I wanted to pass it by you that I know of a guy that wants a bow and if you are interested in letting it go...let me know

thanks

Jordan
