This post answers the question ...

Post by R.J. »

I was reading some posts from last week ...

Many guy's come on the site and ask which bow from the Excalibur line up is good for deer ?

Well if you look at this guy's picture .... an older model Vixen took down this "member of the deer family "

More than enough power ..... shot placement is everything !

I do concur with the statement "shot placement is everything"...

I also believe the Vixen model is more than capable of dropping a moose.

But the picture

I CALL PHOTOCHOP! Many things just don’t add up. Notably, the position of the crossbow within the antlers. Ahhh, maybe I’m just being too cenacle.

I think it was shot at 4 yards.
I'm sure at 30 yards it would have the same results.

LOWKEY the xbow is 38" or a little less in length, the bull was 60" their abouts so plenty of room ta set the xbow in.... :D

Absolutely true R.J.

The deer I shot last December was about 12 yards from my stand. I got a complete pass through on both lungs and the bolt went through 3" of ice on which the deer was standing. I found the bolt in the spring and it was sticking in the mud where the ice was 3 months earlier.

I was using the Exocet 175lbs.
I hunt for memories, the meat's a bonus!

RJ when I picked up my Relayer (150lbs) some 20+ years ago it was said then that it was more than enough bow for moose. Now if you talk about it and using it for moose, you are called crazy, that it is not strong enough. I think that has come about because of the more is better theory.

IT does not mater what bow you have, if you do not place the arrow (the shot) into the proper location, chances are you will not have enough power even if you are using the Exomax with a heavy arrow.
