The Viper is a good stand. I loaned mine out this year, as I'm getting older and don't feel as comfortable climbing and packing a stand anymore. That Timbertall climber looks sweet though :D . Don't waste your money on a cheapo climber as I did the first time around  There scary when they slip and it's money wasted.

I feel a climber is a hunter's best bet if he's a trophy/head hunter though, it allows him to move stands with the deers movement in the season if he's hunting for a rack  or hunting public land.

. I'm quite comfortable with my homemade ground blinds around blowdowns though, also 2 ladder stands that stay year round. This year I've also put up a eastman ground blind over a feeder that I believe will workout later. Then again there's only 2 of us hunting these properties.

I shot a doe at about 7 yds. from a blowdown blind with my Vixen last week with Buck urine for cover scent. It gets the hairs on the back of your neck to stand up when there that close. You just have to watch the wind and figure the deers movement hunting on the ground.

Kev is a wise man! It takes the humility of a big man to admit when we shouldn't stretch our physical abilities! No use getting hurt doing what we love!
Think of your loved ones when you take risks!
