To each their own, but I have found these targets to be vastly superior to "block" type targets. They will withstand thousands of shots, not hundreds. Tough and durable. You won't find a bow that moves these around! They are HEAVY.

You'll need a pliar-type arrow puller if you use one.

The owner, Karl Plato, is one super guy ... you can talk to the man who owns the business, and get personal attention. His guarantee is rock solid.

Why not use what many ranges use?

Worth checking out. Grizz recommended! :D

I have that block too. I got it last year and sighted in my bow with it and then shot for a few weeks with no problem. Then I switched to broadheads to see if they matched my field points and they shot very inconsistently. I kept shooting and adjusting my scope untill most of them grouped well. I ended up realizing that some of my Gold Tips were off compared to the others so I got rid of those and everything was fine. Except that I had shot out the center of the target. I wish I had counted the number of shots it took but it wasn't that many. Now I have to get a new target because I don't like to shoot at the outside circles at longer ranges because there is not enough room for error and I can't afford to miss or lose bolts. So I would say the target is great but use it sparingly with broadheads.

One more thing, I got another block target last year just like the one in the pics but it was huge. It was slightly used by an archery range but in great shape. My father took it to his property and left it. The next week he came back and it had been moved about 15 yards and it was filled with teeth and claw marks. My dad set it back up and a week or two later he returned to find that it had been shredded and the foam sheets were strewn all over the forest. It took hours to clean up. Stupid bears they get into everything they can find. So I would also recomend taking it in the house when you arn't using it.
A bad day in the woods is better than a good day anywhere else.

Targets

Woody''s post on American archery targets is worth looking at. I've been using their broadhead target for crossbows for three yrs. once I have my bows shot in wih field pts.. I practice with what I hunt with. The Crossbow King trget is a broadhd target. Very reasonably priced.
