There were 2 toms and 3 jakes in the same spot this afternoon. The canal is too deep for waders and the bank has no slope what so ever, it drops straight down. There's no way to slide down and climb back up the other side. Not for me anyway . There is a natural drainage where the water runs from the road into the canal and it's close to the roost. Tyler believes that he can make a little bit of a pit out of it. Uncle Ellis and I are going to make the pit tomorrow so that Tyler can hunt there Saturday morning. It's all about getting him on a mature bird now. We'll figure something out.mikej wrote:is it deep? could you use waders?raydaughety wrote:I totally forgot to register for the contest . We have a good population of some nice birds in this area. I've been watching another big tom for Tyler but have to come up with a way to get him across a canal about 14'wide. Any ideas?
God Bless !!!!!!!!!
