Bobcat
Bobcat
Gent`t it was a fun day today during my morning hunt , for the first time in my hunting I got to see a bobcat try an catch a squirrel .
I would not have thought that a cat could climb a tree that fast , but I was sure surprised . he about ten feet up that tree in a blink of the eye .
I put one through him as he was leaving , I did not follow him into the brush , but will check later , he probably waited about 40 pounds
as I said in all my hunting that has been a first , and what a rush .

That cat may not have been forty pounds , but he was big , he looked six foot long going up that pine .

sometimes..particularly if you think you hit your game sour...you wait a while before going to look for it! Why? if you spook up a injured animal in the bush like a bobcat or a deer it may run and you never find it..A injured animal will run a bit then lay down as long as you dont push it or scare it it will stay there and die..recovery is possible..you go after your prey to soon it will run and run and run till it dies most likely in a hiddy hole, and you may never find it...Or it being a cat if you go in the bush after a injured cat it may end up stuck on your face.

FYI when your new to something and want a question answered from such a fine board, so to educate self! be careful how you ask (like the laptop comment) sometimes things can be taken as sarcasm.and that only serves to divide people and strike up a bunch of junk ...You may be joking and I hope so but you never know these days..and I have never heard of bow hunters packing a laptop to the tree if thats your next question..

Actually had a lap top in the woods with us on Sunday!! We joked about it being out of place and we wondered if this was the way our ancestors had done it
. The lap top was brought along so as to look at the pics on my trailcam and save them without having to remove the camera from the woods.

You can take the man out of the woods but you can't take the woods out of the man.

franklinm;
I also saw for the first time yesterday morning, a bobcat chasing a fox squirell. It was fast and it all happened about 66yds. from my stand, I stayed on my stand a bit longer than usual hoping he would cross my food plot. I have killed some that was darn close to 40 lbs. if not more. My problem this year have been rattlesnakes, I've killed 6 since Sept. 10,from 3 1/2 feet to over 5 1/2 feet. Just be careful I wear snakeboots and hip to toe leggings.
