Can I use 18" GT Bolts in my Phoenix?
Can I use 18" GT Bolts in my Phoenix?
Not looking for more speed but i woud like to keep my bolts from extending beyond the stir-up . Any thoughts on cutting them to 18"?

Not sure of the 350 grain weight? I use the brass insert and 100 grain b-heads! Why is the same 350 grain min. used for a 175# Phoenix and 225# Exomax?tad wrote:Not looking for more speed but i woud like to keep my bolts from extending beyond the stir-up . Any thoughts on cutting them to 18"?

I wouldn't want to go below 350 grains for hunting anyway! I just don't understand how 2 crossbows with a 50# difference can have the same min.?tad wrote:Not sure of the 350 grain weight? The Pheonix can use an 18 ich shaft but must maintain a 350 gr total weight. As Gary said only the Vixen can shoot 325 gr. bolts.

That's kinda along the line I was thinkin', but I might of said it a little different I think.bstout wrote:Draw weight (or power) is not a linear function. Power changes logarithmically or at an exponential rate.
