Just got my bow, a few questions!!

Post by stoop14 »

I just got my bow in the mail, and i'm wondering what number my equinox should be set for on my vari-zone scope has numbers 250-350? Also how perfect does the line going across the scope have to be with the line of my limbs?

Ok the problem i'm having is the focus part, when i changed the numbers in the 250-350 it puts me out of focus. How am i suppose to aim to set that up? Also when the item i'm aiming at is focused the cross hairs arn't

Sounds silly, but make sure the storm covers are off the varizone - they will blur the image. Also, the entire rear eyepiece can be rotated to adjust focus. Hope this helps...

Rotate the rear ring to focus the reticle to suit your particular preference.

i think i couldn't focus right because i was looking at something not even 3 meters away. Anyways what about how level the horizontal line is with my limbs, i did my best but my father thinks its off.

The cross hairs should be perfectly horizontal as possible.
Unloosen the rings and turn the scope until the crosshairs are straight across then retighten the rings.

i read those 2 posts but i'm kinda confused, so i shoot at a target at 10 yards if i'm within 6 inches go back to 20 yards, go draw a vertical line 6 inches long on the target? This is where i get lost

its hard to tell when their exactly level when i only have one eye open, and if i open the other i can't see the lines in the scope, eyes go all buggy.

LOL!!!
Sight in the crosshairs at 20yrds. Shoot a group at 50 with the crosshairs on the first arrow, then move the speed ring until the 50 yard line (3rd line down) lines up with the 50 yard group while keeping the crosshairs on the 20 yard arrow. Then do some fine tuning using the 30 or 40 yard line from the respective ranges. If these instructions do not compute switch to beer.

Put the xbow on sand bags. loosen the ring caps. hang a brick on a clothesline rope [thick enough to be able to see]at 20 yds. put a torpedo [plumbers] level across the rail. If you don't know what a torpedo level is, google it.watch bubble to be inbetwen the two lines on level and rotate scope til vert hair lines up w/ rope.

As others have said, you don't have to preset the Varizone. I gotta ask what was it set on when ya got it? Wasn't that scope used on that bow? Should be close enough to start w/.
