My Vortex with a Parker scope is finally dialed in. I am getting 1-2 groups at 30 yds now. I started sitting down & using a sawhorse with a cushion taped around the board. It helped dramatically. Don't think I have any problems except for me being a little shaky holding the Vortex open handed.
DEER SEASON OPENS IN THE MORNING IN LOUSY-ANA!
Heres a pic from Google earth of my property. I'm hunting between the bridge & river tomm. The animals have a interstate they use to pass between the gravel pits. I'm sitting at a red light!

It should be a fun and productive season for you. Good luck and stay safe!
By the way, how big is your property? It looks huge!
"A crossbow?” Pigeon asked. I left my battle-ax in my other jeans,” the man said." — Brandon Mull (The Candy Shop War)
I make crossbows and collect crossbow diagrams.
30 yards is plenty good enough for hunting deer. Much farther and you can run into problems sometimes.
I'm not sure of the maximum yardage I've killed a deer at with my Excalibur, but I'm sure it's under 30.
I've been using the Excal for about 10 years now and the limit has been from 1 to 6 deer/year and I can't remember going hungry.
