Arrow speed question
I am shooting an Equinox with a Viper-X string, 20 inch goldtip laser 3 arrows, and 100 grain points. What would the arrow speed be?

Re: Arrow speed question
What's the arrow weigh w/ point? Subract 350 gr from that, divide remainder by 5 and that's the fps loss from 350 fps. Example: L3 w/ 100 gr point 440 gr- 350 gr=90/5=19fps. 350-19 =331gr That's w/ the FFF string in your sig line, no idea on the Vipers.

I'd rather wear out than rust out.

Re: Arrow speed question
i understand you need the fps for it, but you pretty much know what range its in , i see bows they all want speed but you really dont need alot of speed balance
Re: Arrow speed question
Based on my experience with same, assuming your arrow weighs around 405 grs, you're getting about 335 fps.

Re: Arrow speed question
fpe is more commonly referred to as K.E. Most of the on-line ballistic calculators will tell you the K.E. in fpe but may leave out the fpe part.

Re: Arrow speed question
Just got my new pro chrony digital chronograph.
2317 w/150grn. total weight 491.5,,,,,speed 294,,,,ke 94.36lbs.
fire bolt w/100grn total weight 362,,,,speed 324,,,,ke 84.4lbs.
The funny thing is both set ups have a very close poa out to 40 yds. 10 lbs. of energy is probably a lot but how much difference is there really?
p.s. This is out of a vortex
