Broadhead question on capatability

Post by Old Mountain Man »

I have been informed that traditional archery broad heads and crossbow broad heads are manufactured to different standards due to the quickness of crossbows and the harder hitting of the crossbow.
Therefore a traditional broad head is not recommended for crossbow .Having said that , what about the circumference base , of the broad heads of the crossbow and the tradional archery .I ask this , for I wanted to use a Bolt Cutter broad head on a traditional arrow ( Aluminum 2117 shaft.), for a friend of mine.
Will this work for hunting?
Thanks

What are you considering a traditional head? Many and probably most use a head that was originally designed for a regular compound or recurve style bow. Some companies have come out with "special" heads for crossbows, but more times than not, it is marketing. Some like to use Snuffers and Magnus with crossbows, they are very traditional heads.
