Review: SIK Broadheads SK2

Post by XB I GO »

This is an interesting new design for a rear deploying broadhead. Sik is owned by the same parent company as Bear Archery. The offset blades literally cut out a chunk of meat close to a 1/2 thick. They are guaranteed to open on contact. They stay together out of my Axiom and M380 and make a cut that is a little more than 2" wide. There is a little thingydo that keeps the blades shut, but it is not a rubberband and it is not soft. It does not come off accidentally and it does not move in flight of the 12 shots I took. The chisel tip is sharp on the 3 cutting edges and the blades are wicked sharp. I don't know if they are intended for crossbows "officially" but I am going to find out. They hit the same point as the same weight field tip (100 grains) at 20 yards and 30 yards and group almost as good as field tips. I will try them on my vertical bow that is around 200 fps and I have the Axiom set with them right now. The blades have an axle going through them so I don't see how they would be replaceable. We'll see how they pan out real soon!

That looks very interesting. I'm curious how they look open?
