Red dot on a 355

Red dot on a 355
Was thinking about putting a spare red dot on my micro 355. What should I zero it too? Any recommendations?
Re: Red dot on a 355
I always use a 30yd zero. Roughly 2” high at 20 and 4” low at 40.

I shoot a Matrix 380 got it when the first came out. I mounted a Leupold VX-R 1.25x4x20 on it with Warne quick connect rings. I sighted it in at 25 yards and simpley hold dead out to 30 yards. Couple of things I like about the scope. First if the battery goes dead you still have the reticle, Second it automatically shuts off after 5 min of non movement so if you forget to turn it off after hunting it shuts itself down. It automatically comes on when you move the scope unless you shut it off. Comes with a lifetime warranty. Not trying to sell you a scope just giving you my .02 cents.

I sighted my 335 in also at 30 yds. Use the hold under n over. Makes fer a great 40 yds, killing machine
Re: Red dot on a 355
100% agree with Mike. My old long-limb Excal has a simple 1X red dot sighted at 30 yards and that zero point has worked great for me. Hold under or over based on yardage. I limit myself to a 40 yard shot distance with that bow just because. But it will put the whole quiver well within in a 2" target dot at 40 yards. The key is to practice so you know where it hits at different distances.vixenmaster wrote: ↑Tue May 21, 2019 1:47 pmI sighted my 335 in also at 30 yds. Use the hold under n over. X2 on the Leupold VXR. I love mine on my 355.
Re: Red dot on a 355
I have one but it sits on my ruger pcc...if I was to stay with a scope I would just keep the tact zone.
I have a spare Burris fastfire 3 that I was thinking of mounting on the 355 to save weight and make it more maneuverable

Looks like the secret is out! I’ve had a Leup VXR 1.25-4x on one or more of my bows since 2014. I have yet to use anything better. You can shoot it with both eyes open and use the firedot when mag is low. It gathers light at dawn and dusk and actually has usable illumination at these times. It’s lighter than some red dots too.

The one I have no desire to part with is my Leupold VXR 1.25-4x20. For my eyes it's Chrystal clear and the red dot is priceless in that first and last min of legal shooting light!

How did this post become about a Scope?

I have used nothing but Red Dots, on all my Excal Bows. TruGlo Ascending, Multi-dot with speed adjustment. They were discontinued by TruGlo. You can find them on e-bay. If TruGlo would of had them made properly, they would be a very reliable sight. Since they are made in China, now. The mirrors keep coming loose, and TruGlo will no longer repair them. You can still get a Multi-Dot, but your 40/50 yd. dots, will not be as accurate. Hold 1" or 2" high.
