What i see for the Micro

Post by strum »

Or rather what I would like to see :D
I was noticing the cheek piece and it looks like its held on by two screws.
That I like. I would like to see it adjustable. Just a matter of removing the bottom lip and slotting those holes maybe?
don't have on in my hand so im guessing here.

Don't know about the Micros but on my M330, I didnt use the screw to hold it in place. Just position it to where it fits me best, then snap in place!
Eyeing the M335 stock, looks like same concept applied!

not that simple Stan. they are countersunk screw pockets and posts on the cheeck piece that hold it in place. Also a no go not using the screws it doesn't snap on like the other bows. ill post pics later.

Hey Stan, a little silicone caulk and you can put the cheek piece anywhere you want! A little bondo and it can be as tall as you want.

I'm working on an adjustable cheek piece for my M355...stay tuned. I want to be looking right downt he pipe when my cheek bone is socked on the cheek piece and the Excal version is too low by about 3/4".

I'm not sure it will work for a Micro...but then again, I wasn't thinking about the Micro when I came up with the design.

Somewhat ghetto, but black pipe insulation works very well and can be trimmed to fit your exact needs. You can make it match quite well and look decent with some matching camo tape applied carefully to prevent wrinkles with minimal seams.

Cost is about $10 - $15 to buy the materials to ake 12 of them, including two sided tape to attach them.

Stan, you can build up the existing cheek piece with a little epoxy and some micro-balloons, or add a wood block and a few layers of veneer like this one.Image
I know with your woodworking skills you can do this easy as pie. If you are going to paint anyway, bondo or epoxy is no big deal. If you wanted to stain or clear finish it would be "some " trickier. Good luck

I think Excalibur could do themselves a big favor and over 3 different height cheekpieces. This would really help the "fit" of the bows for various people. I wouldn't think it would be hard for them to do.

It would get to be a lot with all the different camo patterns and three heights in each. I would love it but.....just saying.
