First Xbow Turkey This Morning
Took this sad Daddy this morning off my place,,,It was raining when I woke up and I almost stayed in the bed with the wife. I set up down at the creek and waited for day light, at 7:45 I heard the hens yelping on the property next door,,,,I hit my slate about 4-5 times then shut up,,,I noticed that they were get'n closer so I turned just a bit so I could shoot if it worked out. I noticed movement about 100 yards away, then here came the train of hens single file straight towards me with 3 long beards in tow. The hens came to 20 yards and sensed that something was out of place and got spooky but they didn't bust me. Sad daddy was strut'n and gobble'n when he decided to come on in with the hens and when he walked into the hole between the trees, I let the Phoenix fly
11" beard 1" spurs.

Congrats on a nice mature bird. We here have two weeks to go. I have birds all over my property. Starting to become a pain in the ....! Farmers around here hate them due to the bird eating the corn seed as the farmer plants his crop.
Constitution states "That all power is inheret in the people:that ...it is their right & duty to be at all times armed"...Thomas Jefferson 1824.
Sweet Bird. that will go good on the roaster.
Now that snowboard season is coming to an end, I can concentrate on the next season. This will be my first season every huntin' turks, let alone with xbow. I haven't purchased one yet, but heading out with xbowkidd in April for our season opener and I will help call and spot. We have some very good lands to hunt and farmers are more then happy for us to come in.
Some good things did come from the "farmer" that has turkeys devistating his "crops" and needing those permits. He's put a scare into the farming community and they are welcoming us big time.

Congrats!
Great photo too. I think I enjoyed seeing all the green as much as the bird! We've still got pretty tall snowbanks here.
