Well folks I went to Greenville on Wednesday for a psychological evaluation to see if I am "mentally" stable enough to have the spinal cord stimulator implanted in my back. After the evaluation, the Dr. told me that up to that point that he thought that I would pass as a candidate but we wouldn't know for certain until all of the test results were tallied. One test that I had to take on Wednesday morning was a 59? True/false test. It took me 4 hours to completed and I think that I did ok. Well, I got the news yesterday afternoon that I have been approved for the trial!!!!!!

. Ya'll this is excellent news

. This means that if I can tolerate the trial, they will permanently implant the stimulator along my spine and the control box will be on my side just above my hip. I could get as much a 30- 70% DECREASE in my back pain. Do ya'll know what this means?????? I could be able to do almost anything that I used to do. Instead of sitting here in the truck watching it rain, I could be out there hunting in it

. I could be nearly pain free!!!!!!!!!! That means that I could be a better father, husband and friend to all those in my life. They also explained the memory loss, confusion, grammar and such. You see, when the body is traumatized, it works very hard to fix itself. That means taking "energy" from other resources to accomplish this. In my case, my brain is working so hard to fight off the pain that it has let it's guard down in other areas like memory......ect. So, that's a great sign that maybe once the pain is somewhat under control, I will be better mentally!!! I hope that I explained it correctly. Anyhow, a prayer would be greatly appreciated at this time and I really appreciate those that I know are praying for me on a daily basis. The thought of getting "some" pain relief is extremely exciting to me.
Well' the rain quit so I think that we'll walk over to the blind at sit for a while
