Doe shot with a Vixen cross Bow, 125 grain, slick trick Broadhead @ 6:15 p.m. Oct 1 2009. First day Of Deer hunting season. Recovered @ 30 yards.

Good job, Bait Pile!
It was a good night for hunting in this neck of the woods...but I wasn't able to get out. Perhpas I'll test the rain and try my luck tonight.
It's always nice to fill the freezer early in the season.

Congrats on a nice doe. Can you give us some more details of the hunt? How far was the shot? Did you shoot off hand or with some type of rest etc...

hunting about 30 yds back in the woods of the edge of a soybean field.15 ft ladder stand,at 6:15 doe came through browsing,shot at about 27 yds.deer took of but stopped after 25yds walked a couple of steps then fell over.used a slick trick 125 mag.sure did the job.have taken 2 bucks and 2 does at this spot in 5 hunts.I leave tomorrow for a 4 ay hunt on Manitoulin Island for deer and bear.then back home to fall turkey hunt,then to work on getting a buck.I have a couple of buck bombs to try out.
