There are times when deer come in your area when they shouldn't. This morning I hunted a new stand and had to take some skirting and foam insulation to put around the shooting rail. Well, I didn't trim up the tree good when I put the stand up, so I was making a little racket. Got there about 15 minutes before shooting light. I had just settled in and was ranging objects around my stand trying to memorize the distance like I do all my stands.
This Doe with her fawn showed up before I could get my ranging done. I don't know how they kept from hearing all the racket I made just a few minutes before while trying to get the foam and skirting up and breaking all the branches around the stand. Anyway, it proved a fatal mistake on the Doe's part.
She got too close to the Axiom at 20 yards and the G5 Stryker did it's job!

Congrats on the meat!!! Did you ever consider she may have been suicidal? I've had a few that that is the only logical reason I could think of that they came in.
BTW, those are some pretty hefty "arrows" you've got laying there in the bed. How well do they shoot?

I have found over the years that does are naturally curious creatures. I don't know how many times I have been in the woods cutting firewood with a chain saw and looked up to see does and yearlings standing 20 or so yards away watching me. I was on stand one morning and had two does walk into a field and then turn to go out of it down an old logging road 40 away. Standing up in my tree stand to watch them, it started squeaking and popping with me moving in it and the does turned toward me coming in to see what the noise was. Long story short they walked under my tree stand and that was the end to one of them. Congratulations on your doe and good hunting.

Yeah, you should see the broadhead on the other end They have a heckuva kinetic energy value but poor trajectory

It's amazing how sometimes movement and noise actually seem to attract them (for me that's only when it's not deer season).
