A tip for some of you arra builders
I was getting the occasional front insert come loose and I've figured out an excellent way to help keep them in.
Prior to washing them in Acetone I knurl them. I take two axe files and lay one with the coarse side up. I lay the brass insert on it. Then I take the second file coarse side down on the insert, bear down and roll the insert. I just roll it so that the surface gets one knurling. Then wash in acetone. I screw on a field tip and glue. Then twist the insert as it's going in. You'll find that the fit between the insert and the shaft is just a tiny bit tight.
This not only give a more rough glue surface to the insert but it also roughs up the inside of the shaft.
As always any 24 hour glue works better than an instant glue because it is allowed to seep into more pores of the shaft before setting up.

Makes sense ...I always twist and turn my inserts to spread the glue even and then I place the bolts feather side (or Vane)up...Thanks for the tip
