Dissapator Bars and Pads for New IBEX
I have recently purchased a new IBEX crossbow and was wondering if other IBEX owners have install the dissipater bar kit on their crossbow, and once the kit was installed did they notice any noise reduction ??

Downlink, Personally, I think you would be better off with a set of X-Cal. S-5 String Stoppers. They help with both noise and vibration. They also help with an accidental dry-fire. Just my opinion, hope it helps ! Hawkeyemd

I own an Ibex and have had the dissipator bars and S-5's installed right from get go so I cannot comment on how quieter they make it. But overall I don't find the noise too bad.

The pads do nothing for sound. They are only good for extra front end weight.

Re: Dissapator Bars and Pads for New IBEX
Been thinking of removing my bars and pads but sort of scared to mess around with something that's working good . Anybody know how much they actually weigh and how much they help with vibration and noise ? I have the STS system already so do I really need them ? Thanks

I took them off my Exomax,,the bars, pads, everything weighs 8.7 oz. Now the crossbow weights a lot lighter and more balanced also. If you decide to take the bars off, be sure and get the 2 beveled washers for your limb bolts to fit into. I got mine from Excalibur support..if your in the US maybe you can get them from Danny Miller. You have to have those beveled washers in order to put your limbs back on the bow properly.

The dissipator pads have been tested and due reduce your bows noise level by several disables. They due add a little front end weight though... and that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Downlink, I have a set with new pads on them. You will need the accessories to install them, I don't have them anymore. You can have them if you want to try them, and I'm sure someone here has the rest of the parts needed. PM me, and I'll send them along. I'll get the shipping too! Terry, or Munch here does all kinds of customizing on these, and I would bet he would have something laying around.

The reduction is about 2dBs on the forward riser.
The S5 reduces some frequencies so to some there is a noise reduction and others there is none. On things for sure it eats a lot of dirty energy so they do add to reducing the possibility of damage on a dry-fire.
