Re: HELP GRIZZLY AN REDS
Go for the recommended brace height, then set the bumpers about 1/8" lower than that. This allows the string to creep, and should offer the best speeds. I like 1/4" - 1/8" gap hen string has stretched in.

Re: HELP GRIZZLY AN REDS
As long as your Grizzly is equiped with the correct REDS ? ( I think they use the same as a Micro ? ) and you maintain the 3/16" - 1/4" gap between your string and the bumpers, I would not worry too much about the referance line on the rail.

Re: HELP GRIZZLY AN REDS
After you set your brace height, take a sharpie and put a mark on each side of the rail under the string for future brace height reference. It will save a lot of hassle in the future.

Re: HELP GRIZZLY AN REDS
With proper brace height on the grizzly my reds bumpers are a good 1/2" away.. If I were to move them up I can't use the set screws the shafts aren't long enough an yes I have the correct reds

Re: HELP GRIZZLY AN REDS
You can even get away with no reds on the grizzly, as long as you keep the brace height adjusted correctly.

Get ahold of Danny Miller, 740-483-2312, ask him for the Rubber Baby Bumpers he sells for you model. He might even swap you for the REDS. Do you have a brace height mark on the rail deck? If so, don't go below that, something else is not quite right.

Yes it has a scribe line. Danny is in ohio if I'm nit mistaken. I'm in Dayton the 740 area code is just a few counties away from me

Re: HELP GRIZZLY AN REDS
I also have a grizzly and found a discussion on here that the line on your riser is not actually the brace height the correct height is 1" or so from the end of the rail. The stock strings have about a 1/2" of stretch in them before they come anywear close to the baby bumpers. My string is sitting 3/8" off of the bumpers after changing to a custom Flemish string.

Re: HELP GRIZZLY AN REDS
Last year with my call into Excalibur I was told by Excalibur the line on barrel indeed was the brace height reference line. But I thought about a flem string but was told by a string builder.. That with the bow I have I wouldn't gain anything from a flem string this is the reason I've not went that route. But who knows so much different info on all forums at times. But i.would like to resolve mine. But it being the holiday weekend. I'm sure mr Miller is busy so.ill contact him.this week

Re: HELP GRIZZLY AN REDS
No magic mystery with the string thing. If the Flemish String is heavier in weight than the Endless Loop on the bow, and both are made with performance materials, the heavier string will be a bit slower. The gain is the cool look that the Flemish offer, and the stronger loops with twice the strand count of material. You will get less felt vibration as well with the Flemish String, and they sound softer on the shot. I would give up a few FPS for one personally.
Good luck, hope you get it all worked out soon, and enjoy a great season!
