How many of you ground blind hunters shoot thru the mesh? I tried it and there is no diff. at impact.

Re: Shoot thru mesh
I tried the shoot through mesh shot using my stick bows practicing for turkey season years back and didn't fair to well. It may have been using a much slower bow or just me. I'm curious to see what others experiences have been using faster crossbows.
Re: Shoot thru mesh
Only time I've sat in a blind it had shoot through mesh. It was a long particularly boring day out. Probably because I'm used to seeing all kinds of stuff and wasn't used to the view of the blind. Anyway, a Turkey came out of nowhere and I decided split second to take it. After all was said and done I remembered the mesh so I went back to inspect. Turns out my FOV was through the mesh but my POA was straight through the side of the tent. so I figure if you can shoot through the tent and hit target, the mesh should be no problem.

Re: Shoot thru mesh
I have had a DB blind with shoot through mesh for at least 20 years now and have never bothered to shoot through the mesh. There is absolutely no reason to as the windows adjust small enough that deer and turkeys pay no attention at all and I am able to shoot rifles, shotguns and bows with no problems at all. Why shoot through the mesh when there is no reason to do so?

Re: Shoot thru mesh
I won't shoot through it ever again unless its with a rifle. It didn't work to good for me and my vixen on a 20 yard shot. But we live to learn. The shot was low on the opening so maybe that had something to do with it. Remember the scope it higher than the rail.
Re: Shoot thru mesh
I shot my first turkey with my homemade recurve with a Simmons fixed blade thru a mesh with no problem it was a 10yd. shot and the mesh was tight , so I tried my 405 thru the mwsh and it was right on at 20 it also was tight I wonder if tight is the answer?

Re: Shoot thru mesh
Fixed...no problem.
Mechanical...that's be a loud NO!!!
I use a couple of "pop up's" where needed. But like Rob said, I don't shot thru the mesh.
I have tried it at home. And as long as it's a FIXED Blade it will work. The mechanical's have a tendency to open all the way or partially, depending on type of retainer used on the blade.
Rage would open about 90% of the time. Swhacker's about 85% of the time. Bolt Cutter's or Muzzy's, no sweat.
Just what I found out by shooting them.
